Norris FFA
40th Anniversary Celebration
On March 20th the Norris FFA Chapter celebrated 40 years of hard work and success. It was a fun filled evening full of reminiscing of old time and even looking to the future of Norris FFA. It was a gathering of current and former Norris FFA members in the multipurpose room. The founding fathers or first members and first advisor, Leon Deunk, were honored. They told stories of the old times, good and bad, of their experiences during the initial years of the Norris FFA Chapter. There were several speakers which included three past, highly successful members; they were Craig Gana, Lana Steinhausen, and Lee Thurber. Among this group success ranges from starting their own business to being State Officers and even a National FFA President. They talked about their years in FFA and the experiences they got out of it. They talked about what is important going through FFA careers. You get out of FFA what you put into it. The Chapter and Greenhand Degree Ceremonies were held as well. Melissa Siefert and Madison Lee gave the FFA creed to practice for their appearance in the State FFA CDE contest. Towards the end, state qualifying Parli. Pro. Teams had demonstrations and tours were given of the facilities. The official FFA scrapbooks from the past years were out so others could remember their glory days as well. Overall the night full of cake and fun, remembering and even looking forward to the next great 40 years of Norris FFA.
