Broken Bow Students Place At State FFA Convention

EDITOR’S NOTE: The following story was published April 10 in the Kearney Hub.
LINCOLN — Students from Broken Bow recently placed at the Nebraska State FFA Convention in Lincoln.
From Broken Bow High School: Trent Carda placed first in poultry production proficiency and qualified for the FFA National Convention next fall in Indianapolis.
 
Jared Williams placed second individually in senior livestock judging. He and Emilie Ross, Taylor Woodward and Nathan Olson were the second-place team in senior livestock judging.
In ag communications, the team of Emilie Ross, Cortney Baller, Courtney Quackenbush and Ellen Ross placed second.
 
Ross placed first in graphic design.
 
In agri-science, the team of Print Zutavern, Drew Schendt, Travis Connely and Sam Troxel placed 14th.
In junior livestock judging, the team of Sam Troxel, Kylie Williams, Jonathan Jones and Colton Williams placed 13th.
 
The team of Matt Buhlmann, Andy Johnson, Carlene Fisher and Sarah Kaminski placed 13th in natural resources.
 
Allyn Leick received a bronze medal in creed speaking.
 
As a group, the Broken Bow FFA Chapter received a top 10 award in natural resources; a gold metal in community development and silver medals in chapter rating and chapter safety.
