Raymond Central FFA Chapter News

The Raymond Central FFA Chapter held their annual member and alumni banquet on Sunday April 23, 2007 in the new Davey Hall.  Beginning at 6:30 pm, the festivities were called to order by President, Stacy Wolfe, with the FFA opening ceremony.  Next there was a welcome from former State FFA President, Houston Moseman.  Following the introductions, there was a brief invocation by Father Kuffel and then everyone enjoyed a free meal; with the meat and potatoes provided by the  alumni.  The officers of the alumni retraced the events of the past year and handed out the alumni awards.  Six chapter proficiency awards were presented to members for their efforts on their S.A.E. projects.  Dianne Norris received a proficiency in poultry production.  Josh Nelson received a proficiency award in his beef production.  Reed Strizek won a proficiency in diversified livestock production and sheep production.  The proficiency award for diversified horticulture was given to Kara Hoffbauer and Micaela Rezac won swine production.  Three seniors received $500 scholarships from the alumni.  Kari Cihal got the FFA alumni scholarship.  Nick Monnier received the Dennis Rezac memorial scholarship and Stacy Wolfe received the Duane Henrichson scholarship.
 
There was a power point presentation showing the activities since the last banquet.  In order to show appreciation to individuals who made special efforts to help the FFA the officers presented appreciation awards.  Mike Masek, Becky Grimes, and Tony Sigler received certificates for their help as sponsors for National Convention.  Will and Whitney Davis were presented with certificates for their assistance with the senior parliamentary procedure team.  Stan Heyen received an appreciation certificate for his efforts in arranging swine for district livestock judging.  Houston Moseman was thanked for the time that he gave since he was our State FFA President. 
 
New greenhands Amanda Benes, Hannah Brey, Mark Sklenar, Megan Wolfe, James Burkland, and Joseph Peterson were presented with their bronze pin.  The silver chapter degree pin was presented to Clint Ohnoutka, Reed Strizek, Jason Brooks, Nikki Heyen, James Isaacson, and Shelby Hageman for their dedication to the chapter.  Stacy Wolfe, Kari Cihal, and Nick Monnier were recognized for earning their state degree.  Their parents, Kevin and Shari Wolfe, Dan and Marnie Cihal, and Jim and Nancy Monnier, were presented with honorary chapter degrees for all of the work and support that they have given to the FFA.
 
FFA Letters were presented to members who had earned them.  The first year letterers were Hannah Brey, Nikki Heyen, James Burkland, and Megan Wolfe.  The second year letterers were Katie Clifford, Elizabeth Grimes, Brent Monnier, Reed Strizek, and Hannah Masek.  The third year letterers were Micaela Rezac, Josh Nelson, Dianne Norris, Kara Hoffbauer, Emily Masek, and Kari Cihal.  The fourth year letterers were Stacy Wolfe and Nick Monnier.
 
Special member awards were presented to members who achieved the most points in their class, had the best GPA, or sold the most during fund raising.  The first, second and third top fruit sellers were Micaela Rezac, Reed Strizek and Katie Clifford and they received certificates for their efforts.  The members that received pins for the top leadership points for their class were Molly Hoffbauer for junior high, Megan Wolfe for the Freshmen, Reed Strizek for the Sophomores, Micaela Rezac for the Juniors and overall, and Nick Monnier for the Seniors.  Certificates were awarded to members with the top GPA in their class.  These members were Hannah Brey for the freshmen, Jay Brooks for the sophomores, Dianne Norris for the juniors, and Nick Monnier for the seniors.
 
Once all of the awards were handed out, the new officers were installed.  President- Micaela Rezac, Vice President- Kara Hoffbauer, Secretary- Katie Clifford, Treasurer- Josh Nelson, Sentinel- Hannah Masek, Reporter- Dianne Norris, Parliamentarian- Reed Strizek and Historian Emily Masek.  Then the new president ended the banquet.
