NE: York FFA Members Receive American FFA Degrees

The National FFA Board of Directors has accepted unanimously, the following American FFA Degree recipients from York for 2007: Steven Barnes, son of Randy and Kathy Barnes attends Southeast Community College; Aaron Ehlers, son of James and Pam Ehlers, attends the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Dane Niehueser, son of Doug and Barb Niehueser, attends Southeast Community College; Amanda Geis, daughter of Steve and Jeannie Geis, attends Central Community College in Hastings; Amanda Koch, daughter of Rick and Kathy Koch, attends the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Nicole Potter, daughter of Gary and Jenny Potter, attends the University of Nebraska at Kearney; Miles Powers, son of Mark and Julie Powers, attends Nebraska Wesleyan University at Lincoln; Mark Quiring, son of Greg and Nancy Quiring, attends Fort Hays State University Kansas, and Laura Thomas, daughter of Kelly and Rita Thomas, attends Nebraska Wesleyan University at Lincoln.
Congratulations to the York FFA members who earned their American Degree. The American FFA Degree is the highest degree of membership which a member can attain, and less than one half of 1% of the total 540,000 national membership of the organization attains this high honor.
The final step in the FFA Degree system encourages students to grow and achieve personal toward establishing themselves in an agricultural career.
Attaining the American FFA Degree requires a solid commitment to agribusiness and FFA, a record of
outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement.
The American FFA Degree recipients were recognized at the 2007 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN. Each recipient received a special certificate in a leatherette frame and the coveted Gold Key, symbolic of this high degree of membership.
The recognition is sponsored as a special project of the National FFA Foundation by Case IH; Farm Credit Systems; Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. and Syngenta.
