Wilcox-Hildreth FFA

Jordan Strong, Austin Fouts and Vade Jensen work to prepare a market heifer for the beef show at the State Fair. Vade received a blue ribbon on his market heifer while representing the Wilcox-Hildreth FFA.

The Wilcox-Hildreth FFA celebrated National FFA week by hosting the State officer Emilia Woeppel on Friday before the week.  During the week the freshman class had Ag Trivia questions at lunch for the staff and students.  Wed. morning the officers cooked and served a Community Appreciation Breakfast to about 60 people in the Lions hall.  The members wore their official dress to school during the day.  On Thursday the FFA provided Fritz's BBQ pork and Brownie sundae for the high school and staff.

Throughout the year members have particiapated in District livestock selection where the junior team of Dax Fouts, Bailey Guthrie, Jessica Harms and Nicole Beisel placed first and qualified for state.  Jessica was the top junior individual in the district.  In January six seniors applied for their State FFA Degree.  Austin Fouts was selected as the Star candidate in Ag Placement and will have his application forwarded on  to state for evaluation. Also fifteen members submitted Proficeny applications where Austin Fouts received the top place in Beef Production to go on to state where he received a silver rating.
