Alma FFA Chapter celebrated National FFA Week, February 18th-25th. National FFA Week gives students the opportunity to educate the public about agriculture. The Alma FFA Chapter used this week to promote agriculture in school and show appreciation to those who have helped the students in the FFA program. Throughout the week FFA members celebrated each day in a unique way. On Monday all the FFA members dressed up in Pearl Snaps, Jeans, and Cowboy boots. Tuesday the FFA members performed agricultural demonstrations to grades 1st through 6th that were hands on allowing students to experience agriculture in a unique way. Demonstrations included a combine, horses and horse care, cattle handling and equipment, goats and ATV safety. Students also got to ride some pedal tractors, which allowed them to have fun. During the demos, the students had to answer questions developed by the FFA members to expand elementary students knowledge on agriculture. On Wednesday, the FFA members dressed in their Official Dress Attire and accepted a check from Monsanto for $2,500. Thursday the whole school had a chance to support Alma FFA students by donating a dollar to wear a hat throughout the school. Friday the Alma FFA Chapter showed its appreciation to the work teachers and staff performs throughout the school year by cooking and serving breakfast. The menu included scrambled eggs, chocolate chip pancakes, blueberry pancakes, plain pancakes, sausage, coffee, orange juice and milk. Overall the week went very good and the Alma FFA Chapter thanks all of those who helped with activities throughout the week.
