WILLOUGHBY, Ohio (AgPR) -- Nominations are open for the Grower Achievement Award and those interested in nominating a deserving grower can do so at http://www.americanvegetablegrower.com/awards/index.html. The deadline for nominations is May 30.
The Grower Achievement Award honors vegetable growers for excellence in marketing efforts, innovative food quality and safety procedures, industry leadership, and community outreach. The award is sponsored by Syngenta and is presented by American Vegetable Grower® magazine, in cooperation with United Fresh Produce Association. Winners are selected based on innovative, consumer-oriented marketing efforts, commitment to produce quality and food safety, technological innovation and leadership, outreach and environmental stewardship initiatives.
"Syngenta is proud to honor growers committed to excellence and innovation in production agriculture," says Dan Burdett, Head, NAFTA Vegetables at Syngenta. "At Syngenta, our goal is to enhance the long-term value of a grower's business operations by providing a strong portfolio of products, local expertise in the field, a dedication to R&D, world-class technology, and innovative approaches to the agricultural marketplace. We believe these collaborations with our customers also benefit the industry as a whole."
Winners and nominators will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to attend the Washington Public Policy Conference in September, where the winner will be honored.
