Roeder Named 2008 Young Dietician of the Year

Kearney, NE (April 30, 2008) Kaiti Roeder, Director of Nutrition and Education for the Nebraska Beef Council, was recently recognized as the 2008 Young Dietitian of the Year by the Nebraska Dietetic Association. The award is given annually to recognize a Nebraska registered dietitian 35 years or younger who is active in the organization and exhibits a concern for good nutrition of all persons, and must demonstrate leadership in the dietetics profession.
In her position at the Nebraska Beef Council, she is charged with educating health influencers and consumers about the benefits of beef as part of a healthy diet through the use of beef checkoff dollars. “Health and nutrition has always been a passion of mine. My job at the Nebraska Beef Council is a perfect fit for me. Every day brings about new and different challenges and allows me to gain knowledge and grow professionally in the dietetics field,” said Roeder.
An active member of state and local dietetic Associations, she is the upcoming president of the Central Nebraska District Dietetic Association and has served as the editor of the Nebraska Dietitian newsletter for four years. Roeder earned a degree in Nutritional Science and Dietetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is currently taking graduate classes in pursuit of her Masters degree in Public Health.
Roeder was presented with the award during the Nebraska Dietetic Association’s Annual Conference in Omaha on April 25th, 2008.
