OMAHA, NEB. - Wesley House Leadership Academy and Gale Sayers have teamed up again for the 3^rd annual Gale Sayers Wesley House Golf Classic.  The KANEKO gallery will also be hosting ‘The Art of the Game,’ a silent auction and cocktail banquet to benefit the Wesley House.

‘The Art of the Game’ will be this Thursday, May 15^th at KANEKO, 1111 Jones Street, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The golf classic will be this Friday, May 16^th at the Indian Creek Golf Course.

The golf classic has featured many famous faces in addition to Mr. Sayers, including Allan Houston, John Beasley, Marlin Biscoe, Stedman Graham, Bob Boozer, Johnny Rogers, Steve Taylor and Lawrence Pete; as well as local celebrities like Mayor Fahey and Dana Altman.

New this year is the partnership formed between KANEKO and Wesley House. Auction items range from season tickets for Creighton basketball to artwork from world renown ceramic artist Jun Kaneko to a two night Las Vegas vacation at the Venetian.

Last year’s tournament raised over $64,000 and had 26 corporate sponsors from throughout the community.  All profits made benefit the Wesley House in its continued support of providing opportunities for growth in leadership and academic excellence among the youth of North Omaha.
