Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for Mon 07/21/2008.
Receipts: 1973 Last Week: 2083 Year Ago: 2172
Compared to last week: Steer calves steady to 2.00 higher, feeder steers
mostly steady. Stocker and feeder heifers 2.00-3.00 lower. Weigh-ups mostly
average with good attendance of buyers. High percentage of No. 2 cattle in the
mix, moderate to good demand. Much of the state receiving very hot and dry
conditions. Receipts included 40 percent steers, 45 percent heifers, 13 percent
bulls, with 40 percent over 600 lbs. A total of 366 cows and bulls sold with 56
percent going to packers. Both cows and bulls selling steady with trade very
active on fleshy cows.
