Minnesota Feedstuffs - Prices for the week ending Tuesday, August 05, 2008

Minnesota feedstuff ingredient prices were mostly lower this past week. The
soybean complex was lower this week on improving crop conditions. The increase
in feather meal prices was due mostly to limited supply.
Oilseeds:
The August Soybean Meal futures closed 29.00 lower at 347.50; September closed
31.30 lower at 341.50. The August Soybean Oil futures closed 485 points lower
at 52.98 cents per pound; the September closed 497 points lower at 53.18 cents
per pound. The high protein Soybean Meal in Minnesota was 25.50 to 32.00 lower
from 332.50-337.50; the basis was 3.00 lower from 10.00-15.00 under the August
futures. Linseed Meal, 34 pct protein was down 7.00-40.00 from 240.00-250.00 in
the North Dakota-Minnesota area. Sunflower Meal, 13 pct fiber, 34 pct protein
was 7.00-10.00 lower from 158.00-170.00 in the North Dakota-Minnesota area.
Soybean Oil was 485 points lower from 50.48-50.98 cents per pound; the basis was
unchaged from 200-250 points under the August futures.
Animal Protein:
Meat and Bone Meal, 50 pct protein was steady to 10.00 lower from 390.00-
400.00 for ruminant; pork was 440.000. Yellow Grease was 100 points lower from
36.00-37.50 cents per pound. Choice White Grease was 50 to 75 points lower from
44.25-46.00 cents per pound. Feather Meal was 40.00 to 100.00 higher from
500.00-600.00.
Millfeeds:
Wheat Middlings were 5.00 to 8.00 lower from 145.00-160.00. The Sacked Bran
was steady at 250.00.
Others:
Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, 17 pct protein was steady at 240.00.
