Live sales were steady to .50 higher at 94.00-94.50, mostly 94.50. Trading and demand was moderate to active in Kansas. Compared to last week, live sales were steady at 94.00. Trading was moderate in Nebraska with light to moderate demand. Compared to last week, dressed sales are mostly 1.00 higher with sales ranging from 148.00-150.00. Live sales have traded unevenly .50 to 1.00 lower with sales at 93.00-93.50, few 94.00. Trading in Colorado was light with live sales .50 to 1.00 lower at 93.00-93.50 Boxed Beef values Friday were called weak on light to moderate demand And offerings. Choice closed down .27 at 156.56 and Select closed down .14 at 152.02 on 274 total loads. Cattle slaughter under Federal Inspection was estimated at 124,000, with 80,000 for Saturday, bringing the weekly estimate to 719,000. Note: prices are based on net weights FOB the feedlot after a 3-4% shrink unless otherwise noted. Dressed prices based on hot carcass weights delivered to the plant.
