WH_LS762 Kearney, NE Thu Oct 9, 2008 USDA Market News - NE Dept of Ag Valentine, NE - Valentine Livestock Auction Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/09/2008 Receipts: 3650 Last Week: 3400 Year Ago: 4700 Compared to last week, weights under 600 pounds trended steady to firm. Weights over 600 pounds were weaker when compared to last weeks run of weaned fall calves in the same weight class. Cattle quality and buyer turnout were both good. Receipts consisted of 68 percent steers and 32 percent heifers, 35 percent over 600 pounds. The next feeder sale will be on Monday, October 13.
